Situation 1: Liu Xu is a freshman and Wang Qin is a sophomore. They meet on the first day of a new semester and they are greeting each other on campus.Make a conversation, and then act with your partner.

Situation 2: Liu Xu is going to register with the help of Wang Qin and they are talking about the registration procedure.Make a conversation, and then act with your partner.

Situation 3: After registration,Liu Xu goes to his dormitory and he greets his new roommates.Make a conversation, and then act with your partners.Section Two:Related InformationHow to Establish Friendship

Friends have a huge impact on your happiness.Good friends relieve stress, provide comfort and joy, prevent loneliness and isolation, and even strengthen your health.

We tend to make friends with people we cross paths with regularly: people we go to school with, work with,or live close to.The more we see someone, the more chances we have to develop 1friendship.Another big factor in friendship is common interests. We tend to be drawn to people we share things with: a hobby, the same cultural background, and the same career path.

When you are going to meet some new people, try to open to new experiences. Not everything you try will be successful but you can always learn from the experience and hopefully have some fun.

Volunteering can be a great way to help others while also meeting new people. Volunteering also gives you the opportunity to practice and develop your social skills regularly.

Take a class or join a club to meet people with common interests, such as a book group, dinner club,or sports team can help you find local groups and connect with others who share similar interests.Attend clubs, book readings, lectures,or other community 2events where you can meet people with similar interests.

Behave like someone new to the area.Even if you’ve lived in the same area for years, take the time to re-explore your neighborhood’s attractions.New arrivals tend to visit these places first, and they’re often keen to meet new people and establish friendships, too.

Unplug. It’s difficult to meet new people in any social situation if you’re more interested in your phone than the people around 3you.Remove your headphones and your smart phone while you’re in the campus or waiting for a bus,for example.Making eye contact and exchanging small talks with strangers are great practice for making 4connections—and you never know where it may lead!Vocabulary

如果把这些问候翻译成英语就是“Where are you going?”“Have you eaten yet?”。 而“Where are you going?” 英美国家的人在见面问候时一般会用“Good morning/afternoon/evening!”(“早上好/下午好/晚上好!”),“Nice to meet you!”(“见到你很高兴!”),“How are you doing?”(“近来好吗?”)。

A:还没有。

Teamwork is the actions of individuals, brought together for a common purpose or goal, which subordinates the needs of the 1individual to the needs of the group. In essence, each person in the team puts aside his or her individual needs to work towards the larger group objective. The interactions among the members and the work they complete are called teamwork.

People in every workplace talk about building the team, working as a team and my team, but few understand how to gain the experience of team work or how to develop an effective team. Here are some tips for building a successful work team.

Determine the purpose and goals of the team. You may write a business plan that covers the mission of the team. All team members 2must have a copy of this document.

Help employees understand what goals need to be met and how they can be met by creating a yearlong plan that provides structure 3and clarity. Help employees understand the prioritization of the goals and focus on short-term goals to provide a yardstick for accountability.

Choose the members of the team. After describing the team’s goals, plug in collaborators that can execute each goal.Team members must not be limited to employees. They can include consultants or freelancers with special expertise.Assign a team leader who is an experienced and ethical role model.He/She must challenge 4the team members while providing respect and support.

Define each team member’s duties.Lay out the roles of each member clearly in a document for members to sign.Connect the team with the company’s vision and mission.

Conduct team meetings at the end of each term to reassess what goals have been met, what priorities need to change and whether implemented strategies need adjustment. Conducting teambuilding exercises can create a cohesive team.Successful teams stem from good relationships,so business teams must create these relationships quickly.Vocabulary
