In the first task, they have to write an essay that describes the information from a chart, table or process diagram. They must write at least 150 words and they should take about 20 minutes for this. Task 2 is an essay where the candidate must write an essay discussing an issue such as education or the environment. They need to illustrate their answer with examples which come from their own experience. In Task 2, which should take about 40 minutes, they must write at least 250 words. The marking criteria include grammar, vocabulary, ideas, and linking ideas together. modals for this usage include: can, can’t, must, mustn’t, have to.
Modals are ALWAYS followed by base form verbs in English.
