前言

河南省中等职业教育公共课精品教材是以《中等职业学校英语教学大纲》(2008年版)为基本依据,围绕“以服务为宗旨、以就业为导向”的办学方针和“以全面素质提高为基础、以综合职业能力为本位”的教学指导思想,紧密结合当前职业教育发展的新形势和中等职业学校学生实际而编写的。

let’s是let us的简略形式,意为“咱们”,另外,Let us…还有“让我们……”之意。

go to…“到……去”。go是不及物动词,如果其后是名词表示的具体地点,此名词前须用介词to。又如:Please go to the classroom.请到教室去。

10.How large it is!多么大呀!

感叹句。对形容词或副词的感叹要用how,并置于句首。又如:How tall the building is!这楼多么高啊!

句型

Ⅰ.“主—系—表”结构

1.系动词be的人称、数和时态的不同形式。

系动词be在句子中根据句子主语的人称和数的情况使用不同的形式,一般现在时态有am,is,are三种形式。am和is的过去式是was,are的过去式是were。

2.“主—系—表”结构的三种形式。

主语是一个句子所叙说的主体,表示所说的是谁或是什么。它通常放在谓语的前面。担任主语的主要是名词或代词,也可以是相当于名词或代词的词语。

表语是用来说明主语的身份、特征、性质或状态的,通常放在系动词的后面,两者构成复合谓语。担任表语的一般是名词、形容词、副词或介词短语等词语。

1)肯定式结构。如:

I am a teacher.我是一名教师。(名词作表语)

The classroom is large and bright.教室又大又亮(形容词作表语)

Our TV is on now.我们的电视现在开着呢。(副词作表语)

The picture is on the wall.那幅画在墙上。(介词短语作表语)

2)否定式结构是在系动词后加not构成的。如:

She is not a student.她不是学生。

We are not workers.我们不是工人。

It is not a book.这不是书。

注意:is not的缩写形式为isn’t,are not的缩写形式为aren’t。

3)一般疑问式结构是把系动词be移到主语前构成的。如:

Are you a student?回答应是:(肯定)Yes,I am.(否定)No,I’m not.

Is he a teacher?回答应是:(肯定)Yes,he is.(否定)No,he isn’t.

Are they workers?回答应是:(肯定)Yes,they are.(否定)No,they aren’t.

Ⅱ.There be…某处有……

在英语中,表示“拥有,具有……”用have,表示“某处有……”要用“there be…”句型。

在“There be…”句型中,主语在there be之后。谓语动词be要随其后面主语的单复数形式而变化。主语是不可数名词或单数可数名词时用is,主语是复数时用are。

1.There be句型的肯定式结构。如:

There is a teacher in the classroom.教室里有一位老师。

There is some water in the glass.杯子里有点水。

There are four reading rooms in the library.图书馆里有四个阅览室。

若句子中有几个并列的主语,be的形式要与离其最近的一个主语在“数”上保持一致。如:

There is a teacher and fifty students in the classroom.教室里有1名老师和50名学生。

There are fifty students and a teacher in the classroom.教室里有50名学生和1名老师。

2.There be句型的否定式结构。

在There be后面加no或not any。如:

There is no(not any)book on the desk.书桌上没有书。

There are no(not any)books on the desk.书桌上没有书。

3.There be句型的一般疑问式结构。

把系动词be提到there前面置于句首,句末用问号即可。其肯定答语是Yes,there is/are;否定答语为No,there isn’t/aren’t。如:

Is there a teacher in your classroom?

Yes,there is.(No,there isn’t.)

又如:

Are there any teachers in your classroom?

Yes,there are.(No,there aren’t.)

注意:some多用于肯定句,any多用于否定句和疑问句。

Greetings from Beijing.

Thank you for your concern about my school life in China.I’m writing to tell you that I’m having a good time here and I’m lucky to be a student of Xinhua Vocational School now.

A month ago,I came to Beijing to learn Chinese cooking.When I got to this school,everything was strange to me.You know,I can only speak and understand very little Chinese.At first,I couldn’t follow the teachers in class and I felt a little nervous.Luckily,all the teachers here and my classmates are very kind and friendly.They show great concern about my life and study.With the help of the teachers and my classmates,I’m glad to say that everything is going better and better now.

We have four classes in the morning and three in the afternoon on weekdays.In the morning,we usually have lessons in our classroom.In the afternoon,we sometimes go to the skill training center of our school to practice cooking skills.

After class,we have many interesting activities.On weekends,I often go to have classes of Chinese language or go sightseeing around the great and beautiful city of Beijing.

am writing“正在写”,am having a good time“过得愉快”,是动词的现在进行时形式。又如:I’m showing them around our school.我在带他们参观我们的学校。

have a good time“玩得高兴,过得愉快”。又如:We often have a good time on weekends.周末,我们常常过得很愉快。

2.A month ago,I came to Beijing to learn Chinese cooking.一个月前我来到北京学习中国烹饪。

came是动词come的过去式。注意不规则动词的过去式形式,go的过去式为went。又如:He went to Shanghai three days ago.三天前他去上海了。

3.When I got to this school,everything was strange to me.我到这所学校时,一切对我来说都是陌生的。

got是动词get的过去式。when引导时间状语从句,“当(在)……时候”。

get to…“到达……”。又如:They got to the library at nine.他们九点到了图书馆。

4.At first,I couldn’t follow the teachers in class and I felt a little nervous.起初,在课堂上我听不懂老师讲课并感到有点紧张。

at first“起初”。又如:He didn’t talk with others at first.起初,他不和别人说话。

follow“跟随,跟得上”。本句中follow为“跟得上,听得懂”的意思。又如:Sorry,I can’t follow you.对不起,我没听懂你说的话。

a little“有点儿”。又如:I’m a little busy now.现在我有点忙。但very little“非常少”。又如:He can only speak very little English.他不太会讲英语。

5.They show great concern about my life and study.他们非常关心我的学习和生活。

show concern about…“对……关心”。又如:Our teachers show great concern about our study.我们的老师很关心我们的学习。

6.With the help of the teachers and my classmates,I’m glad to say that everything is going better and better.我可以高兴地说,在老师和同学的帮助下一切都变得越来越好。

with the help of…“在……的帮助下”。又如:He can follow his teachers now with the help of his classmates.在同学的帮助下,现在他能听懂老师讲的课了。

better and better“越来越好”,better是形容词good的比较级。“形容词比较级+and+形容词比较级”表示“越来越……”。

7.We have four classes in the morning and three in the afternoon on weekdays.我们每周平时上午上四节课,下午上三节课。

on weekdays“在每周的工作日”。又如:He goes to work at six on weekdays.他每周平时都是六点钟上班。
