这是美国人经常用来形容方位的表达。以自己为表盘的圆心，正前方就是12点方向，两手伸平，左手就是9点钟方向，右手是3点钟方向。你的正后方就是6点钟方向。比如说某人在你前方1点钟方向，我们知道在时钟的表盘上，每隔一小时就相差30度，也就是说12点和1点钟方向相差了30度，那么也就是说那个人所在的位置是在你正前方向右偏约30度的位置。据说这个方法源于战争时期士兵判断敌人方位时的做法。
out of one’s league/在某人力所能及的范围之外
league除了有联盟、联赛的意思，还有范畴、范围的意思。所以这个短语的字面意思就是不在我的范围之内。通常用来形容很难得到。比如在申请学校时，你可以说“Come on.Don’t be kidding.How can somebody like me ever get an admission to Harvard?It’s way out of my league.（拜托，别逗了。像我这样的人怎么可能进哈佛大学？这远远不在我的能力范围之内。）”
back up/支援；备份
我们在工作中常常会用到back up这个词，表示备份。但在口语中，back up有支援的意思。比如在与别人起冲突时，你可以对朋友说“Hey, silly, come and back me up here.（白痴，快过来帮帮我。）”
