➊ “现在怎么办？”卢卡问道。“她是个女人，我能确定。看她那漂亮的脸蛋儿。”“他爱上那位将军了。”他的母亲心想。“请他与你共进晚餐。”她告诉卢卡。“男人用手掰开面包；女人用刀切开面包。”
但是凡塔－吉萝用手掰开了面包。
➋ 晚餐过后，太后说道：“今晚天气很热。邀请他和你一起游泳。两个男人可以一起畅游，而女人则会拒绝。”
卢卡提出这个建议时，凡塔－吉萝说：“当然，我非常乐意和你一起游泳。但是我累了，天也晚了。我们明天早晨再游吧。”然后她回到了自己的房间。
