尊敬的各位嘉宾、各位朋友：

大家晚上好！

很高兴与大家共聚成都国际友城交流展，畅叙友谊，共同见证成都36年友城交往的历程。受罗强市长委托，在此，我谨代表成都市政府，向前来参加今天开展仪式的驻蓉、涉蓉领馆嘉宾和社会各界朋友，表示热烈的欢迎和衷心的感谢！

1981年，成都与法国蒙彼利埃结为友好城市，开启了成都对外缔结友好城市的新篇章。成都，这座既古老又现代的城市，在踏上建设世界城市新征程的今天，已与全球34个城市缔结为国际友好城市，与51个城市缔结为友好合作关系城市，在经济、科技、文化、教育等多个方面开展了广泛而深入的合作。截至目前，在蓉世界500强企业已达281家，驻蓉领事机构16家，成都双流国际机场已开通国家及地区航线104条。纽约、莫斯科、悉尼、马德里、迪拜等城市已拥有直飞成都的航线。发于成都的蓉欧快铁，今年开行班列总数已超过1000列，成为开行最多、网络最完善、辐射“一带一路”沿线国家范围最广的中欧班列，正全方位地助推成都的国际交流与合作。

开放的世界，是成都的机遇；开放的成都，是世界的舞台。一年年交流往来，持续深化；一件件友城馈赠，饱含深情。本次展出的200件外事展品，跨越了五大洲56个国家，见证了成都与国际“朋友圈”的交往历程。琳琅满目的各国展品彰显了国际友城浓郁的民族特色，高超的传统工艺和灿烂的现代文明承载着各国人民与成都人民的珍贵友谊，见证了成都对外开放的累累硕果，预示着成都全面建设现代化新天府和可持续发展世界城市的美好未来。

希望通过本次国际友城交流展，大家能更直观地感受到成都与国际友城的深厚情谊，也希望能为成都市民、外籍友人打开欣赏异域文化精华、领略外国艺术风采的窗口，架设起增进中外友谊、促进中外文化交流的桥梁。

The Speech at the Opening Ceremony of the Chengdu International Sister City Exchanges Exhibition

Distinguished guests and dear friends,Good evening!

It’s my pleasure to meet you at Chengdu International Sister City Exchanges Exhibition to witness the friendship between Chengdu and its sister cities in the past 36 years.Asked by Mayor Luo Qiang, on behalf of Chengdu Municipal People’s Government, I’d like to extend my warm welcome and gratitude to all of you present here, especially guests from consulates in Chengdu or Chongqing.

In 1981, Chengdu and Montpellier in France became sister cities. Since then, Chengdu has more and more sister cities. Chengdu, a modern city with a long history, now already has had 34 sister cities and 51 friendly and cooperative cities, with which cooperation has been carried out in many aspects, such as economy, science, culture,and education. So far, there have been 281 Fortune Global 500 companies set up in Chengdu. 16 consulates have been approved to be established in this city. 104 international air routes have been launched in the Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport. Cities such as New York, Moscow, Sydney, Madrid, and Dubai now have direct flights to Chengdu. By the end of this year, more than 1,000 trains had run on Chengdu-Europe Express railway. Among China Railway Expresses, the railway starting from Chengdu has the largest number of trains, the most perfected network,and the most far-reaching influence among countries along the Belt and Road,contributing to Chengdu’s international exchanges and cooperation.

The world is a vast opportunity for Chengdu; an open Chengdu is a staging ground for the world. Exchanges between Chengdu and its sister cities increase as time goes by.Nearly 200 gifts from 56 countries across the five continents are on the exhibition,which have witnessed our friendship. All these gifts embody the features of different ethnic groups, traditional skills and splendid modern civilization. They are fruits brought by the opening-up of Chengdu and they indicate the bright future of this city,namely building a modernized new Chengdu and a sustainable cosmopolitan city.

It is hoped that Chengdu International Sister City Exchanges Exhibition could take us to the deep friendship between Chengdu and international sister cities more intuitively,and serve as a window for Chengdu citizens and foreigners to appreciate the essence of foreign cultures and arts as well as a bridge to promote Sino-foreign friendship and cultural exchanges.

At last, I wish Chengdu International Sister City Exchanges Exhibition a big success,and all of you a happy New Year, a happy family, good health and good luck. Thank you!

“海内存知己，天涯若比邻——成都国际友城交流展”诞生记

2017年12月30日至2018年3月11日，由成都市人民政府外事侨务办公室和成都市文化广电新闻出版局联合主办、成都博物馆承办的“海内存知己，天涯若比邻——成都国际友城交流展”在成都博物馆四号临展厅成功举办。本次展览是落实成都市政府主要领导在“2017成都全球创新创业交易会”期间提出的工作指示，展示成都对外开放的国际化进程，增进市民对成都国际交往现状的了解，于2018新春跨年期间举行的大型文化惠民活动。

此文即记述了本次展览的策展过程。

一 一项规格高、时间紧的“政治任务”

2017年5月中旬，一场声势浩大、成果显著的“全球创新创业交易会”在成都成功召开。围绕着“汇智创新、开放共享”的大会主题，来自47个国家、58个友好城市的680余名“大咖”与嘉宾汇聚蓉城，其中不乏诺贝尔奖获得者、中外院士、国际知名高校掌舵人等，他们携带着全球最高端的创新创业资源，在成都掀起了一股科技投资的热潮。在这场激情碰撞的“双创会”上，国际友城市长创新论坛也成为期间最受关注的盛会之一，这让成都国际“朋友圈”再一次发展壮大、通达五洲。正是缘于这样的契机，成都市政府主要领导提出要举办一场以国际友城交流为主题的展览，以成都30余年来在友城交往中受赠的礼物为主要展品，让更多老百姓了解成都的国际“朋友圈”，感受世界多元文化，共享城市对外开放成果。

2017年11月中旬，成都市外侨办和市文广新局主要负责人到成都博物馆调研场地，在一场高效的“头脑风暴”后，议定将这场展览作为跨年新春献礼，让成都的老百姓过一个充满“国际范儿”的元旦、春节，当即确定展期为2017年12月30日（元旦假期第一天）至2018年3月11日（元宵节后第二个周日）。

成都市政府主要领导亲自督办，两个行政体系深度合作，要在短短一个半月的时间里，梳理成都36年的友城交往史，并在数以千计的外事赠品中选取既富于文化代表性又具有观赏性的展品，从主题策划、内容撰写、展陈设计再到组织实施、如期开幕……在市外事侨务办礼宾处的大力支持下，成都博物馆“友城展”策展组这个极具战斗力的团队以一贯的通力合作、敢打敢拼的工作状态，让这个“几乎不可能完成的任务”就这样如期顺利而且近乎完美地完成了。

二 一次追溯时光、环游世界的“浪漫之旅”

成都市自1981年与法国蒙彼利埃结为国际友好城市以来，至本次展览策划开展之日已先后与亚洲、美洲、欧洲、大洋洲、非洲的重要城市缔结友好城市34个，友好合作关系城市51个，尤其是进入21世纪以来，随着成都对外开放程度的大跨步飞跃，尤其是国际航线的不断增多、蓉欧快铁的开通以及多国驻蓉领事机构的设立，极大地推动了成都的国际化进程，让成都一跃成为新一线城市，在对外交流合作中的影响力越来越大。

五大洲、85个友好城市、36年的友城交往历史、初选的500余件/套展品……策展团队仿佛从20世纪80年代起的历史卷轴上看到了时光的沙漏，也在世界的版图上进行了一次充满风情的游历。一场跨越时空的“浪漫之旅”在一份满载美好期待的情怀中启程了。

三 一幅情深谊长、美轮美奂的“友城图景”

展览标题借用了“初唐四杰”之一的王勃《送杜少府之任蜀州》中脍炙人口、广为流传的诗句“海内存知己，天涯若比邻”，反映了知心朋友哪怕空间距离再遥远也好似近在眼前的真挚情感，简练明快的诗句把友谊深厚、山水难阻的情谊刻画得淋漓尽致，入心入境，体现了一种豁达的情趣和旷达的胸怀。用这句诗来表现国际友城之间的关系再贴切不过。而巧合之处在于，王勃的好友杜少府赴任的蜀州，正是今成都崇州一带，因此以此诗作为成都友城展览的标题，有一语双关之妙。（二）内容设计

展览紧紧围绕主题，结合时间与空间的双坐标轴，将各个友城的基本情况娓娓道来。首先在序厅中以精练的笔墨重点介绍了成都通过数十年对外开放所取得的主要成就，让观众在观展之初便对成都的“朋友圈”有了整体的概念。在这样的前提下，展览以欧洲、亚洲、美洲、大洋洲、非洲的空间维度划分为五个主要板块，在每一板块中又以缔结友好关系的时间先后为序，一一陈述每一个友好城市和友好合作关系城市的地理位置、城市特色、与成都的交往联系，并对精选出的反映成都对外交流成果的176件/套展品（包括成都与友好城市签署的协议书8件/套、成都荣获的国际性奖杯奖牌9件/套，以及成都自1981年以来的36年间在国际交往活动中受赠的来自55个国家的159件/套外事礼品）进行了解读，如独特的荷兰郁金香座椅、精致的突尼斯苏塞锡制橄榄树、别致的韩国金泉传统鼓、原始的新西兰土著哇咔碗、神秘的加拿大捕梦网……让观众通过这些琳琅满目的特色展品，领略国际友城浓郁的民族特色、高超的传统工艺和灿烂的现代文明，深切感受到各国友城人民与成都人民的珍贵友谊。结语以当今成都城市发展的定位与目标落笔，契合时代精神，紧扣时代主题，并表达出对成都未来发展的美好愿景，与序言的宏大发展图景紧紧呼应，形成完整而严密的内容链条。

内容设计突破了“以物示物”的传统模式，而是“以物叙事”“以物抒情”，多层次、多维度地讲述了成都与友城交往中的故事，让观众不仅了解到展品本身的魅力，还能见证成都在对外交流方面的累累硕果，油然而生一种民族的归属感与自豪感，并对成都在世界格局内的发展前景充满美好期待。（三）形式设计

1.以疏密有致的布局起承转合

该展览在展陈设计方面独具匠心，充分利用展厅错落、开放的展示空间，结合展览关于五大洲的分区以及展品的丰富程度，精心设计了张弛有度的观展路线。展厅轴侧图

展览序言部分设置在通向展厅的公共空间，以恢宏的大幅画面展示了与成都缔结友好关系的友城分布图以及迄今为止的成都国际航线图、蓉欧快铁通车图，大格局的图版借助公共空间开阔、明亮的区域环境，让观众在观展之初便对成都的对外交流格局有了一种直观的全景式印象。

从序厅通往展厅，迎面而来的便是巨大的主题墙，通道从开阔倏地转向集中，从感官上给观众以“聚焦”的引导。展厅内的空间强调“整体性”“呼应性”和“互动性”，以和谐的五色自然划分出展示区域，以柔软而极富质感的纱幔穿插其间，形成半透半闭、灵活开放的展陈空间，简洁而不失层次，增加了展览的张力和活力。展览主题墙

2.以鲜明有别的色彩表达寓意

展览以海洋蓝作为主题色，呼应标题“海”与“天”，也象征“五大洲”通过海洋连接与分隔。展厅内的空间划分摒弃了“硬隔离”的做法，而是结合建筑的自然隔断，把展陈空间作为一个整体，以五大洲的代表颜色作为分部主题色，区分展览五大板块的空间。欧洲各国友城部分为蓝色，传达一种愉悦、恬静的视觉感受；亚洲各国友城部分为黄色，给人以淳朴、敦厚的印象；美洲各国友城部分为红色，让人感受到充满热情、火辣奔放的动感；非洲各国友城部分为褐色（出于展陈效果的考虑，将黑色变为褐色），体现出坚韧、顽强的品格；大洋洲各国友城部分为绿色，传递出自然、纯净的勃发生机。色彩的自然过渡让展线流畅而明快，整个展览风格简约而柔和，为展览赋予了生命的律动和温度。展厅全景照片

五大板块的代表色参考奥运五环的颜色，不仅从视觉上传递出各大洲的人文特色，也让观众有身临其境的代入感，鲜明的色彩给人以美的享受，令人在观展的过程中体会到了文明的交汇融合与企盼世界和平的美好心境。与此同时，五种颜色也代表了世界上所有国家国旗的颜色，从这个层面上讲，也寄寓了对未来的成都不断扩大国际友好交往合作，让“朋友圈”覆盖全球的美好祝福。各大洲不同代表色

3.以图物并茂的展陈传递信息

展品大多以裸展的形式展出，通过对光线的精准把握，突出展品的特质与美感，尤其是对于细节的展示，让展览空间与展品达到自然融合。白色的展台最大程度上降低了展具对观众的干扰，让观众在观展时能够全身心地与展品互动，感受展览所要传递的文化内涵。丰富的展板不仅扩充了展品本身所能传达的信息量，更营造了展厅不可或缺的氛围，给观众带来流畅的享受和美妙的观展体验。非洲城市赠礼

4.以灵活的科技手段再现风情

本次展览展品类别与风格千差万别，如何挖掘展品之间的内在联系是形式设计需要着重思考的问题。整个展览的展具在风格上力求统一协调，而在每个大洲的板块中又以展台和展柜穿插错落的方式，为展览增添了一些韵律和变化，同时也对重点展品的位置、高度和灯光投射方式进行了特别设计，使之和谐交融又主次分明，让观众能够轻松自然地获取重点展陈信息。展厅内三处多媒体的设置，让游线有了节奏感，不仅增加了展览的科技含量，同时又能把大量无法通过有限空间表达的友城信息以动态的方式展示出来，极大丰富了展览内容，延伸了展览内涵。各大洲不同代表色

5.以全民参与的初衷创意创新

展览突破以往与观众之间“一个负责展示、一个负责欣赏”的平行关系，专门设置了一面“城市朋友圈照片墙”，让观众可以将自己在友城生活、学习、旅行的身影发布在“朋友圈”里，把自己的风采定格在展厅中，与展览融为一体，还可以互相“点赞”，进行爱的互动，这一创意形式让展览顿时接了地气、有了生命力。一张张充满异域风情的照片，是成都友城交流不断密切的生动缩影，也是对展览主题最具说服力的鲜活例证。观众每每在互动墙前驻足，寻找或熟悉或欣赏的身影和面庞，贴上爱心点个赞，感受来自身边普通人的喜悦，体会城市的发展与开放给百姓带来的生活品质的飞跃，这种会心的笑让整个展览有了打动人心的热度。“城市朋友圈”照片墙

四 一场全民同乐、共襄盛举的启幕联欢

作为一场辞旧迎新的跨年惠民文化盛宴，结合成都博物馆的展览惯例与观众流量的分布规律，开展活动定于2017年12月29日晚7点在成都博物馆一楼大厅举行。展览主办方邀请本次展览的发起者——成都市人民政府市长亲临现场，同时盛情邀请了驻蓉涉蓉领馆代表参加。本次展览与众不同的一点是将“惠民乐民”的理念贯穿始终。在开展前，成都博物馆就公开征集了广大市民与成都国际友城的合影，从中精选并邀请百余名市民共襄盛举且作为首批观众参观展览。在开展仪式上，市长现场抽取幸运观众共同为展览启幕，在元旦前夕为成都“朋友圈”的发展壮大送上了美好的祝福。“海内存知己，天涯若比邻——成都国际友城交流展”是一场充满了真情实感、洋溢着温馨和平的展览，也是一次世界范围内友城之间政治、经济、文化、社会交流的生动展视。展览筹备期仅45天，在策展团队的精心策划下，展览由此诞生。“海内存知己，天涯若比邻——成都国际友城交流展”一经推出便受到了广大市民的热烈欢迎。本次展览不同于以往的“文物展”，展品更加多样有趣，展出方式更为活泼灵动，给新春的成都博物馆增添了一份蓬勃振奋的气息。在为期72天的展览里，参观总人数逾20万人次。

本次展览期间，成都博物馆向观众提供免费讲解服务共计150批次，微信语音导览中文播放总次数为16198次，英文播放总次数为1653次。同时，成都博物馆联合成都法语联盟，于2018年2月13日至3月11日共同举办了“畅想法国（Imagine France）摄影艺术作品展”，并于3月3日组织举办了“法语角”。趣味与知识兼备的配套活动收获了大量好评。除馆内自媒体微信、微博发布外，电视媒体、平面媒体报道共计11次，新媒体报道共计184条，直播观看人数2.3万人，“友城展”百度搜索达1580万次。

本次展览梳理了成都市友城发展与交往的脉络，彰显了成都这一兼容并蓄的开放之城、南北丝绸之路的重要交汇之地，在文明交流、文明互鉴与文明共存的历史进程中，表现出的和平、发展、合作、共赢的理念，充分展示了成都这座国家中心城市和对外开放重镇，在国家对外发展战略的指引下积极推动命运共同体建设、共同创造美好未来的崭新面貌，取得了良好的社会效益。

A Close Friend from afar Brings a Distant Land Near — Chengdu International Sister City Exchanges Exhibition

Co-sponsored by Chengdu Municipal Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office and Chengdu Culture, Radio and TV, Press and Publication Bureau,and organized by Chengdu Museum, "A Close Friend from afar Brings A Distant Land Near—Chengdu International Sister City Exchanges Exhibition" was held at No. 4 Temporary Exhibition Hall in Chengdu Museum between December 30, 2017 and March 11, 2018. In response to Chengdu Municipal Government's working instruction proposed during the"2017 Chengdu Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship Fair", and endeavoring to showcase the opening up and internationalization process of Chengdu City and enhance citizens' understanding of the evolution of exchanges between Chengdu and the world, this large-scale exhibition, also a culturally beneficial event, took place during the New Year Festival. This catalogue introduces the entire planning and organizing process of this exhibition.

Ⅰ A High-end and Urgent “Political Task”

In the middle of May 2017, the highly expected grand "Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship Fair" was successfully held in Chengdu with great influence and achievements. Under the theme of "Pooling wisdom to promote innovation, opening up and sharing", the Fair gathered together over 680 big names and guests from 58 sister cities of 47 countries, among them were a number of Nobel Prize Laureates, Chinese and international academicians, helmsmen of prestigious higher institutions, and others. With the most cutting-edge innovation and entrepreneurship resources in the globe, they provoked an investment boom in technology in Chengdu. During the "Innovation and Entrepreneurship Fair", the Innovation Forum for Mayors of International Sister Cities of Chengdu has also been one of the pageants of the most concerns and one that expanded the Chengdu’s"friends circle" in the international arena. Thanks to such an opportunity,authorities of Chengdu Municipal Government proposed to hold an exhibition on the theme of international sister-city communication, where the gifts received in the past 30-year's international exchanges between Chengdu and its sister-cities could be displayed and through which more people could have a better grasp of Chengdu's international "friends circle",experience the diverse cultures of the world, and share the deliverables of Chengdu's opening up.

In the middle of November 2017, officers of Chengdu Municipal Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office and Chengdu Culture, Radio and TV, Press and Publication Bureau visited Chengdu Museum to inspect the venue. After a highly efficient "brainstorming", they decided to set an exhibition as a New Year present to all Chengdu citizens, allowing them to have "internationalstyle" New Year's Day and Chinese Spring Festival. It was decided, right away, to kick off the exhibition from December 30 (the first day for New Year’s holiday) to March 11 (the second Sunday after the Lantern Festival).In the fleeting one and a half months, Chengdu Municipal Government, as the main leader and supervisor, worked closely with the two Bureaus,reviewed the past 36 years' history of Chengdu's communication with its sister-cities, and, from thousands of gifts received from its sister-cities,selected the most representative and aethetically pleasing items. The preparation included titling the event, drafting the content, designing the display, implementing the plan, and setting up the exhibition on schedule,and amongst others. With vigorous supports from the Reception Office of Chengdu Municipal Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, Chengdu Museum "Sister City Exchanges Exhibition" producers collaborated together. With their diligence, efficiency, and teamwork spirit, the producer team accomplished the seemingly "mission impossible" on time and presented a nearly perfect exhibition to all.

Ⅱ A Round-the-World "Romantic Trip"that Crosses Time and Space

The year 1981 witnessed Chengdu's first sister-city—Montpellier, France.Up to now, Chengdu has been sister city of 34 major cities from Asia,Americas, Europe, Oceania, and Africa, and fostered cooperation relationship with 51 cities. Particularly in the 21st century, as Chengdu marches ahead in opening up, there are now more international lines to Chengdu, Chengdu-European express railways, and also greater presence of consulates from different countries, which have significantly facilitated Chengdu's internationalization, transformed it into a new first-tier city in China, and increased its international influence in foreign exchanges and cooperation.

In front of the 500 some pieces/sets of exhibits after the primary selection from those given by 85 sister cities from the 5 continents in the past 36 years,the entire producer team seems to have traveled in time from 1980s,roaming vast sections of the world. As such, a "Romantic trip" across time and space is set off with great expectations.

Ⅲ A Fabulous “Sister-city View”that Embodies Forever Friendship

(I) Exhibition Title

The title, "A Close Friend from afar Brings A Distant Land Near", is from a well-known poem, Farewell to Vice-prefect Du Setting Out for His Official Post in Shu, written by Wang Bo, topping the four talented poets at the beginning of the Tang Dynasty. This line reveals that close friends won't be set apart no matter how far away from each other. It vividly depicts a genuine friendship that is never estranged by mountains and rivers, and also manifests what open and clear temperament and mind are like. There can’t be better words that suit the theme of this exhibition. In addition to the underlying meaning of the line, another coincidence is that Shu, where Viceprefect Du's office was based, happens to be today's Chongzhou of Chengdu,hence, titling this exhibition with this line is also the most optimum for its pun.

(II) Content Design

Closely to the theme and factored in the time and space coordinate axes,general introductions of each sister city have been presented in a clear and orderly way. Firstly, in the prelude hall, main achievements that Chengdu has made in the past decades have been concisely introduced, making sure that visitors have a general impression of Chengdu's "f　riends circle". Based on such premise, the exhibition was divided into five major sections for Europe, Asia, Americas, Oceania, and Africa pavilions respectively. In each section, sister cities are arranged in a chronological order and their geographical locations, city features, and exchanges with Chengdu have all been introduced, along with interpretations of 176 pieces/sets of carefullyselected items that best showcase Chengdu's achievements in foreign exchanges. (Those items on display include 8 pieces/sets of Sister-city Agreements, 9 pieces/sets of International Awards, and 159 pieces/sets of gifts from 55 countries Chengdu has received in the past 36 years'international exchanges since 1981). Among those diverse items are unique Tulip Chairs from the Netherlands, an exquisite tin-made olive tree from Sousse, Tunisia, a set of delicate traditional drums from Kimcheon, South Korea, and an original tribe Waka Bowl from New Zealand, a mysterious dream catcher from Canada… Through those fabulous items, visitors can appreciate the exotic national features, superb traditional arts, and splendid modern civilization of Chengdu’s sister cities, and cherish the friendship between peoples of Chengdu and those cities. The concluding remarks present Chengdu's development positioning and targets, which are kept in tandem with the demands and trends of the times, and express a bright vision for the future development of Chengdu. Echoing with the prelude, the exhibition presents a spatially and logically complete content chain.

Unlike most traditional exhibitions where items are presented only for the sake of exhibition, this time, exhibits are there to tell stories and trigger resonance. They present stories between Chengdu and its sister cities from a multi-layered and multi-dimensional approach. It enables visitors to appreciate the charm of those items per se, and also allow them to witness the fruitful achievements Chengdu has gained in foreign affairs, thus awakening the sense of national pride and generating greater expectations to Chengdu’s future development in the international arena.

(III) Exhibition Design

1. Intervolving Layout

With great originality, the exhibition fully takes advantage of the open and embracive space, factors in the rich variety of exhibits in five separate continent-featured sections, and presents a rather flexible visiting route.Isometric View of Exhibition Hall

The prelude can be seen in a shared area that extends to the aisle. With a spectacular layout map, the locations of Chengdu's sister cities are clearly signposted, along with the international airlines to Chengdu and Chengdu-Europe Express Railway lines. The vast mapping graph offers a panoramic view for visitors; and, while standing in the broad space and immersed in the bright light, visitors can have an initial and general understanding of Chengdu's foreign exchanges at where the exhibition begins.

By the prelude is a huge theme wall. The wide aisle turns suddenly into a narrow one, creating a perspective effect and presenting a "f　ocus" as visitors walk in. Inside, "i　ntegrity", "c　orrespondence",　 and "i　nteractivity" are the main features. The exhibition hall was naturally split into five sections by five different colors and soft and highly textured gauze curtains, creating a semi-transparent and half-closed space. 2. Distinctive Colors

Ocean-blue, as the theme color, echoes the connotation of the exhibition's title; it symbolizes that it is ocean that both sets apart and connects the "five continents". The Hall is not separated rigidly; instead, by taking full use of features of the architecture and colors, the exhibition hall, as a whole, is divided into five major sections with five distinctive colors that best represent the characters of five continents. European sister cities are put in Blue section, giving expression to a joyful and quiet visual effect; Asian sister cities are in Yellow section, leaving an unsophisticated and honest impression; American sister cities are in Red section, which enables visitors to feel their charm and ardor; African sister cities are in Brown section (for better visual effects, Brown has been evolved from Black), presenting a tough and resilient image of Africa; and Oceanian sister cities are in Green section, delivering a vigorous and dynamic feature. The use of color helps keep the Hall integral, links various sections naturally, and provides a peaceful visiting experience by creating an alive and dynamic atmosphere.Panoramic View of the Exhibition Hall

The five continent-featured sections also represent five Olympic rings,which have not only displayed their respective cultural and social features from a visual perspective, but also enabled visitors to feel immersed in. The bright colors provide an aesthetic enjoyment and create a special and peaceful climate where people are able to stroll freely in different continents,appreciate exchanges of various cultures, and experience the peacefulness of the world. On top of that, the five colors can be found in all nations' flags, from the prospective of which it indicates high expectations for Chengdu to increasingly expand its international cooperation with various countries in the world as well as the best wishes for an even more international "friends circle" in the future.
