前言
从近几年的托福考试来看，中国大陆地区考生的写作平均分一直停留在20分左右的水平，虽然它高于听力的18分和口语的19分，但是20分仍然称不上是一个高分。而阻止中国考生得到高分的几个最主要的障碍就是“Chinglish”、语法以及答题思路。也就是说，拿到一个题目而没有任何的想法是目前绝大多数考生的共同问题。所以，本书的编写目的便是让考生看到题目后，脑中不再是一片空白，而是能更好地利用30分钟的时间写出接近完美的作文。
本书具有哪些特色
★ 时效性：所给出的题目均贴近目前活跃在考场上的考题。
★ 针对性：对于中国考生在写作当中所遇到的困难逐一进行击破。
★ 目的性：本书所有题目均按照内容分类，帮助考生按照写作话题分类写作。
在选题上，我们选取了与真题难度相仿、覆盖写作核心的105道题目加以解析，并将其分为7天的任务量，每天给出15个题目作为练习。其中前10道均为近几年考试类似题目，并且标注了相应的考试时间，比如“Parents should encourage their children to do their schoolwork themselves instead of doing together.（20141115ML相似考题）”就表示该题目与2014年11月15日中国大陆考区的考试题目类似，其中ML表示中国大陆考区，NA表示北美考区。这样的划分既避免了考生对同一话题训练的枯燥，又可以一步一步拓展自己的写作思路，检测自己的学习成效。同时本书也省去了长篇累牍的题型介绍和理论知识，直接给大家提供最有含金量的题目和万用的论点及例证，希望用最短的时间让考生的分数有最大程度的提高。
在形式上，每个题目都由“审题”和“思路拓展”两大部分组成。其中“审题”中不仅有该题目所属的话题（旨在帮助考生对题目的大概内容有一个宏观把控，抓住题目重点），还给出了题型分类，针对不同的题型给出相对应的解决方法。而在“思路拓展”部分，不仅给出了中文的分论点描述，同时也给出了对应的比较美式的表达方式。既解决了没有东西可写的问题，同时也对“Chinglish”的表达方式作了改正，正所谓一箭双雕。
最后，写作作为托福考试的最后一个部分，需要考生在有限的时间内输出一篇文章，所以论点的补充以及表达仅仅是完成了准备工作的一个部分，有了内容，更重要的是通过练习将其变成一篇文章。因此，虽然本书没有涉及输出的整个过程，但是要很好地掌握一个或者一类题型，必须不断地重复输出的过程，慢慢把时间把控在30分钟之内，达到托福的要求。

独立写作出题方式
独立写作要求考生在30分钟内就某一个话题阐明并论证自己的观点，词数要求为300个词以上。出题方式为：

独立写作分值转换
从词数以及时间上看，虽然独立写作所占的比例要明显大于综合写作，但是这两篇文章在分数上所占的比重却是相当的，也就是各占一半的比例，每篇的总分均为5分制，各自给出评分然后算出两篇写作的平均分，最后按照如下的表格将分数换算成30分制：
